各種報道で言われていますが、2013年8月末より４箇所でタイ・ミャンマーの陸路国境が解放されました。
As many newspapers say, four Thai-Myanmar borders opened in August.

先週、Htee Khee（ミャンマー側）-Sunaron（タイ側）のポイント近辺に立ち寄りました。同ポイントはミャンマーのダウェイとタイをつなぐ道路上にあることもあり、中長期的に重要な役割を果たすと考えられますが、現状に関わる情報はほとんど出ていません。
Last week I dropped in at near the Htee Khee(Myanmar)-Sunaron(Thailand) point.
Although this point will be a very important point as the Dawei special economic zone develops, there is little information about the current situation.

記事ではタイ側のポイントが“Sunaron”と記載されていますが、同名称よりも“บ้านพุน้ำร้อน /Ban Phu Nam Ron/ バーン・プ・ナム・ローン（バンプナムロン）”が使われているようです。タイ外務省のホームページでも“Ban Phu Nam Ron ”が使われています。なお、日本語では“バンプナムロン”と表記されることが多いようですが、タイ語の表記からすると“バーン・プ・ナム・ローン”の方が正しいと思います。
Although many newspapers use “Sunaron”, it seems that this name is not a popular one. The name “บ้านพุน้ำร้อน /Ban Phu Nam Ron” is more famous one.

10/18日に実際に同ポイントに立ち寄ってみました。カンチャナブリ市内から車で30-40分程度かかりました。
I dropped in at this point on October 18th. It takes 30-40 minutes from central of Kanchanaburi city

同ポイントは実際の国境の数キロ手前にあり、関税や検疫所が設けられていました。話を聞いたところ、ビザを持っていないとミャンマー及びポイントより先のタイ側地域にも入れないとのことで、これより先には進めませんでした（ちなみに、2013年８月にメーサイからタチレクにエントリーした際にはビザなしで入れました。）

This point is located several kilometers on the Thai side and facilities such as custom, medical inspection, are provided. The foreigner must get a visa in advance (FYI: When I could enter Myanmar from Mae-Sai without getting visa in advance.)

細々ですが、トラックがポイントを通過していました。また、下記(リンク先はタイ語)のようなタイ企業向けのダウェイ視察のツアーも組まれており、同ポイントを経由してミャンマーに入国するツアーバスも多くいました。
